MOTHERS' UNION

The Mothers' Union is an organisation to which Christians all over the world belong. Though our lives and our experience of the Mothers Union may differ widely depending on where we are, we are joined together by our shared belief in the importance of the family in God's world. The Mothers' Union is active in supporting family life in many ways and all we do is underpinned by our distinctive spirituality.

The 5 Aims of the Mothers' Union are

To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service
To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children
To help those whose family life has met with adversity

In Whiteparish the Mothers' Union Branch meets on the first Wednesday of most months. Meetings are held either in members' homes or in the Methodist Church Hall. Usually there is a speaker who treats either a social or spiritual topic. During the year social and fund-raising activities are also organised. All meetings are open to the public and visitors are most welcome.
